Acne & Chocolate

Don't tell the kids, but eating chocolate and getting spots or acne has no relation . There has been a load of scientific research and doctor's knowledge and none of it can prove acne and chocolate are connected. Although we should all take into consideration that moderation with everything is the key.

Actually eating chocolate promotes seratonin levels in the brain which helps relieve stress levels. As we know stress can be a factor in causing acne. Chocolate also has antioxidants in, which are good for the body. Acne and chocolate? What do you say now about the connection?

True Life: I have Acne

MTV's award-winning documentary series, "True Life" will follow three young people between the ages of 15 and 25 as they struggle to manage their severe acne and the personal issues they face stemming from their skin problem. Some examples of young people who might be appropriate for this documentary are:

- A college student whose acne makes them feel so uncomfortable in social situations that have decided to seek out therapy to help them handle their social anxiety.

- A teenager who has tried everything and has decided to use Accutane despite it's potential side effects and expense. I used accutane and its very powerful!

- A young professional who has tried everything possible to clear their skin and is going to try an unproven natural method. This could get a bit interesting!

Our small digital video crew will follow these three young people as they work to change their skin or they way they feel about it. We will follow each person for a few days at a time over the course of two and half months as they pursue their chosen course of action.

“True Life” is not a reality show; it is a documentary series. The show’s producers follow a strict set of ethical guidelines, carefully avoiding influencing their subjects’ stories. It is also not a news show; it does not have a host or narrator. The show’s producers simply follow their subjects, trying to capture as much real life as possible and allowing their subjects to tell their own stories.

“True Life” has been on MTV since 1998. For more on the series, please visit our web site:
One of the most vivid stories I have about popping a zit is back when I was in high school. I had just gotten out of the shower and I felt this tingling in the armpit area. I lifted my arm up and felt around to find this little lump. I knew it was a zit, I just didn't know what was gonna happen next. Anyways I grabbed this lil lump firmly and started to squeeze. Nothing. I knew there was something in there, but was real afraid cause it was like M&M size "regular not the peanut" so i grab hold again! Splurghchh this pus shoots out of my pit onto the mirror. A nice bloody mixture. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a nice chunk hanging out on my pit but most of it splattered the mirror. That lil puppy never came back, but I'll always remember it. I've never had one like that since!

Ok so this is a classic story. This has to do with a zit, well a cyst on my grandfathers leg. Old people always get crazy zits, blackheads, or cysts all the time. Kinda nasty, but I guess thats the way their old bodies handle stuff. Anyways my grandfather tells me about the time he had this lump on the side of his leg. He went to the doctors to have it looked at. The doctor said it was a boil of some sort. All they would need to do was poke it and drain it. haha. To my grandpas surprise the doctor jabbed at it, and as my grandfather says, that SOB sprayed to the ceiling! hahaha to the ceiling thats insane. He popped his zit to the roof. Too funny. I wish I had been there to see it. Would have been great. I told him if that thing ever fills up again he better let me know. I'll even drive him to the doctors next time.

Zits - Arghh not again!

Zits are on the attack again! You know, I had to deal with this garbage in middle school and highschool. Acne in college wasn't so bad, I had the occasional outbreaks, but nothing like what I had in high shcool. I was afraid to take my shirt off because of bacne! It sucked. So now at age 29!!! the acne is back. What is up with this.
I usually only wash my face when I shower and have been fine for years. Lately I've been getting these monster cystic acne that feels like huge painful lumps. I get a lot on the back of my neck and I hate it. You can't even pop them.

I think a lot of it might have to do with stress and diet. I have a lot going on lately and have been eating like crap. Before this adult acne I was eating healthy and exercising 3 times a week. I have slacked the last few months and bam! acne attack.

I really want to see if this why the acne came back so for the next few weeks Im going to change my diet and get to the gym.

Hopefully I can stop this adult acne in its tracks!
